Chloe started getting credit for volunteering at Saint Vincent DePaul thrift store. She has to sign in the volunteer log book, then rehang clothes, straighten shelves and pick up around store. First day went real well and seem to be good productive stretching exercise. She went swimming at the YMCA and did 7 lengths or 3 and a half laps with greater arm reach toward over her head while swimming  on her back.

Got my opening paragraph:
So what does a central nervous system disorder look like and what can be done to rehabilitate it? I hope to share our daughter battle since birth to figure out what caused her disorder and how to rehab it.  We actually rehab the condition so we could figure it out.
It has been a good day!

Chloe swam 6 lengths or 3 laps on her back on Saturday. I watched from out of the pool. Saw Chloe strengths and weaknesses. Now we have a baseline and know what she needs to work on. Next Saturday she will start her volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul thirft store she will sign in and they will keep track of her hours. Have her check out what it means to work in a store. By the end of next month she also hopes to volunteer at the front desk at the YMCA she goes to. So the work experience has begun and we will monitor how much she can tolerate.

Understanding the Brain is an amazing series it has helped me put the medical part of the story in more terms everyone can understand.

Chloe will start volunteering at a store a couple hours a week where she will see if she likes that and how much she can tolerate. Looking like my Chapter on goals has started we just need to be patient with the process and now let it unfolded. Chloe will start a notebook where she writes down what she did and we make notes if she has headaches or asthma or whatever. This is so we can keep track of what is working and what might not be.

My publisher has a submission person contact me so I need to get back on it. I got two more workshops to attend on the web. Got ideas now have to play with them see what fits the best!

Her neurologist wrote, Chloe is under my care in the pediatric neurology clinic. She had an MRI of her thoracic spine on 12/21/2011 which indicated she has a bulging disc between her C6 and C7 vertebrae. If Chloe's behavior changes from her baseline, she should be assessed for pain as the status of her affected disc may have changed,

It took us 19 and a half years to put the disc in place at a mild bulging disc level which now gives her full range of motion with her arms. This was achieved with proper pain medication and supervised exercise. Hoping it stays in place but only time and plenty of correctly done exercises will hopefully keep it in place.

Teleseminar tonight and plan to spend time getting caught up on the Authors learning center today.

Chloe did great on range of motion of her shoulders and her hips showed improved ability to hold her leg out straight on Saturday's workout. Headache and tired today gave her pain medication and suggested Sunday could be a break day. She was happy!

From my class in understanding the Brain, I now understand that the brain and spinal cord are the central nervous system. If one is not working properly the body might not get proper information example Chloe left shoulder and arm issues.

Chloe received a letter from her doctor. It stated Chloe has undergone evaluation for a bulging disc between cervical vertebrae 6 and 7. She has undergone therapy and now has full range of motion. She may participate fully in all activities as tolerated. So a copy of this will be sent with the two applications and we will see what she can tolerate!

I am reviewing lectures on the brain and central nervous system. The professor in Vanderbilt University school of medicine says it is made for people who are not pursuing a career in medicine. Lets hope she is right!

Chloe was overly focused on preventing her back from hurting to the point she could not focus on anything else.  Her language developed gaps but now she is pleasantly surprise that she is not in pain and starting to work on these concepts.  At the YMCA with her trainer , she is practicing making choices and schedule changes while exercising. She was fine after the session and sees that the compression tank tops are helping her back stay in place so she can try new things. She needs to trust the compression tank tops and starts paying attention to the world around her one situation at a time.

Michael Hyatt book very helpful hooked up to this blog: Facebook, Twitter and Linkin so now it can be read on all of them.

Finally got Chloe's Doctor to state that her bulging disc in her neck has caused a pinched nerve which has prevented her from developing her muscles, joints through exercise due to pain. Chloe is now wearing compression shirts which helps keeping her back movement from effecting the nerve and disc. The occupational therapist feels Chloe' needs to  exercise to allow her io strengthen her muscles  now that the disc is at a mild bulge state. Now that she has full range of motion and  greatly improved control of use her arms away from her body which will help her to improve in all functional movement . We hope the disc will stay at the mild state but  Chloe needs to finish develop the muscles around it.

Author Learning center is helping me figure out how much data is enough and different ways I might present it so everyone can see all the twists and turns it took for us to get to this point
